iPhone and Android
We have temporarily removed the features below from the launch version of ZRX:
- Airdrop Mode
- Interval Training
- Wearable support
We know these features are important to you and we’re working on restoring them as soon as we can, better than ever.
- Some users are logged out of the app every few days.
- Radio Season 2 and 3 can play the clips back to back for some users.
iPhone
- If your GPS-tracked workouts aren't measuring distance correctly, please try changing your Location permissions for ZRX to "Always"
- Re-opening the app after a crash can sometimes show a mostly empty Home screen with widgets displaying as syncing; tapping them will open Trophy Cabinet or Base but cause a crash.
- Health Info settings are missing
- Radio Season 2 and 3 can play the clips back to back for some users.
Android
- Radio Season 2 and 3 can play the clips back to back for some users.
Web
- Emails are not being delivered to iCloud.com addresses. We are currently investigating a fix.

Older Updates
iPhone
Fixed in 12.0.10
- Supply story clips aren't randomised
- If you have Apple Music selected, ZR Player music may play simultaneously during a workout. A workaround is to create a playlist with zero songs and select it for ZR Player.
Fixed in 12.0.9:
- When using Clip Spacing Durations
- Clips may play more often than selected
- Workout duration values do not update in the workout settings pane correctly
- The "Don't Interrupt Songs" ZR Player setting keeps resetting to "off"
- Episodes for which you have a "crash recovery" run log cannot be resumed but only restarted
Fixed in 12.0.8:
- Story clips may stop playing after successfully evading a zombie chase
- ZR Player music continues playing after a workout ends
- Mile/kilometer marker distance audio notifications do not play
- Occasionally unresponsive back navigation
- Automatic Download Next Episode and Allow Cellular settings are missing
Fixed in 12.0.7:
- Sometimes workouts won't proceed automatically beyond the 3rd or 4th story clip. Please try restarting your phone – this typically fixes any issues with background tracking. We have reproduced this problem and are investigating a fix.
- If you set a short workout duration, radio clips may play back-to-back after your workout completes
- After an audio notification plays, music may remain quieter
- Statistics charts are missing
Fixed in 12.0.6:
- 12.0.4/5 only: Sometimes only the first story clip plays in a workout, and music does not resume after a story clip ends. We've identified the problem and aim to have a fix by 13 Oct or earlier, pending Apple approval.
Fixed in 12.0.4 and 12.0.5:
- Restored Statistics, with redesigned Personal Bests and Story Progress
- Improved zombie chases to end less quickly
- Restored sharing workout logs with maps and photos
- Restored decision options in Zombies, Run! Season multiple choice missions
- Fixed a bug in Thor & Loki 5K Training where “The Thane's Demands” was not completing
- Fixed a bug where some older workout logs may not have synced to your ZRX account
Fixed in 12.0.3:
- The ZR Player music option can cause crashes and interfere with story playback. Please try the following workarounds:
- Use the External Player instead
- Enable "Item Pickup Announcements" and "Distance Notifications" in More > Settings > Audio & vibration notifications
- If still using the ZR Player, turn off the "Don't Interrupt Songs" and "Loop" options (disabled by default in 12.0.2)
- If none of this works, try reinstalling the app
- Re-added sharing workout logs (maps and photos returning in 12.0.4)
- Population and overpopulation incorrectly calculated for upgrades
- Some achievements are not showing as completed correctly
- Occasionally only the first 1-2 story clips are being played in a workout
- Occasionally workouts aren't being marked as completed even when you've run the required duration
- Unsynced run logs from ZR11 and earlier are not syncing to the ZRX website
- Story clips will not play if item pickup audio notifications are disabled
Fixed in 12.0.2:
- Distance-based workouts, including race missions and Virtual Races, can't be resumed
- Tapping any of the seasons on the Zombies, Run! brand screen takes you to Season 1
Fixed in 12.0.1:
- Energy and distance settings not saving
- Distance showing to three decimal places in Workout Logs
- Progress bar not showing correct progress on resumed runs
- ZR Player not playing playlists
- Download Manager and Tutorials not available
Android
Fixed in 12.0.7:
- Tutorials cannot be viewed from the More screen
- Radio clips may play continuously after episodes
- Supply clips aren't randomised
Fixed in 12.0.6:
- Countdown always defaults to 3 seconds
- Rolling pace and overall pace audio notifications read out times with decimal points rather than seconds
- Tutorials cannot be viewed from the More screen
- Episodes for which you have a "crash recovery" run log cannot be resumed but only restarted
- Audio may continue to play for a few seconds after ending your workout
Fixed in 12.0.5:
- Some chases still fail too quickly
- When distance units are set to Miles, the label is wrongly displayed as "KM" during workouts (though the number is correct)
- Statistics bar charts cannot be tapped to show numerical information
- If you set a short workout duration, radio clips may play back-to-back after your workout completes
Fixed in 12.0.4
- Statistics
- Open source licence information is missing
- Chases can fail too quickly, and after a chase concludes, sometimes story clips and other notifications do not play.
- The ZR Player music option has been temporarily removed in 12.0.2 and 12.0.3 for fixes; read our post on Google's withdrawal of support for playlists for more information
- GPS maps may have display errors in run logs (but not during runs)
Fixed in 12.0.3
- GPS-tracked workouts may not display a map or distance if you start them in areas with poor GPS signal (e.g. indoors). For now, please try starting your workout outdoors.
- Population doesn't calculate correctly for upgrades, meaning that upgrades e.g Housing are prohibited and cause overpopulation.
- Some achievements are not showing as completed correctly
- Item pickup audio notifications play even when disabled
- Custom workout countdowns appear incorrectly after the app is restarted
- GPS-tracked workouts not displaying maps or distance reliably
- Workouts sometimes don't play story audio beyond the first or second clip
- Sharing workout logs feature not available
Fixed in 12.0.2:
- If you put ZRX into the background during a workout countdown (e.g. lock your phone, switch to another app, etc.), the workout may not start.
- Distance-based workouts, including race missions and Virtual Races, can't be resumed
- Radio Mode durations don't let you specify how often clips play
Fixed in 12.0.1:
- Swiping through the last page of the Tutorial takes you to the next screen
- Download Manager not available
- Home Front episodes are incorrectly tracking Distance, Pace, and Chases
