Zombies, Run! is fully accessible for visually impaired users using VoiceOver on iOS.
If you are a sighted user you will not notice any difference, as the accessibility features are audio-only with VoiceOver.
Please note: The rest of this page assumes you are using VoiceOver.
To use the Accessible base you’ll need to have VoiceOver on before opening the base screen, as this will ensure the base opens in accessibility mode.
Placing and Upgrading Buildings
To place or upgrade buildings you'll need to tap on the base. If an area already has a building placed in it then you will hear the name and level of that building. If you tap on a free cell you will hear a list of buildings which can be placed there. The app calculates the amount of free space you have based on the bottom left-most cell so you’ll need to make sure that’s where you’re tapping to get the full list of available buildings.
Some buildings require you to have a 3x3 area of free space (9 cells) so if you find you never hear the option to build a Hospital or a Training Area for example, you may need to expand your base to make more space.
Once you’ve decided on the area you want to build in a drop-down menu with a list of available buildings will open on the base screen. Just scroll down this to select a building. If you meet the requirements to place the building then it will be in the location you have selected, the drop down menu will close, and you can tap on it to find out more information.
Expanding your Base
To expand the base you’ll need to tap on the expansion buttons. These can be found at the top right-hand corner of the base. The ‘Expand Base North’ button is above the base in this corner, and the ‘Expand Base East’ button is to the right of the base in this corner.
All other functions of the base work in the same way, whether you are using the Accessible version or not. If you’d like more information about this then check out some of the other articles in the Base Builder section of the FAQ pages.
If you’re having problems with the base builder then please contact support@zombiesrungame.com and we’ll be happy to help.
